Naloxone, also known as Narcan, is a medication that is administered nasally to quickly reverse an overdose caused by an opioid drug. It has been used safely for over 40 years and has no potential for abuse.
The Noble County Health Department is a Naloxone Distribution site. This allows NCHD to supply first responders with this life saving medication. This program is made possible through the Ohio Department of Health.
The Ohio Department of Health’s Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided With Naloxone) is a network of opioid overdose education and naloxone distribution programs (OENDP) coordinated by the Ohio Department of Health. Champaign Health District in Urbana invites the NCHD to share their Narcan (naloxone) Nasal Spray mail order link with residents in our community so everyone can have access to naloxone.
The link above will take you to a Microsoft Forms page, ask some questions, and it includes a training video. The Narcan is then shipped to the address provided for free, due to grant funding through ODH. For more information, visit http://www.champaignhd.com/narcan.
Start Talking! is a program to give parents, guardians, educators and community leaders the tools to start the conversation with Ohio’s youth about the importance of living healthy, drug-free lives. http://starttalking.ohio.gov/
