The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and all personally identifiable information regarding children and families receiving Ohio Help Me Grow services is protected from unauthorized disclosure under FERPA. Personally identifiable information protected by FERPA is specifically exempted from HIPAA privacy standards. FERPA prevents the disclosure of personally identifiable information without parental consent except in limited circumstances, requires notice to be provided to the child’s family regarding their privacy rights, requires providers to keep records of access to child’s records and contains complaints and appeal procedures which apply to disputes over records in possession of Ohio Help Me Grow providers among other provisions. All Ohio Help Me Grow providers shall comply with these procedures.
Help Me Grow is a program for expectant parents, and caregivers of newborns, infants, and toddlers. The program provides health and developmental services with the goal of children starting school healthy and ready to learn. Our program is modeled after the Parents as Teachers (PAT) home visiting program meaning that we provide services that are evidence-based for healthy outcomes for children.
Help Me Grow provides home-based parenting education to caregivers using the evidence-based curriculum Parents as Teachers (PAT). We answer any questions you have about your child, and we help connect you with resources in the community. We are here to help you be the best parent you can be!
To qualify for services, families must have an income less than 200% of the federal poverty guidelines and have a child under two years of age or expecting a child. Family must also have one of the following:
